Mauro Pollini, PhD

 

Dr. Pollini, PhD student at the University of Lecce since 2005, actually is engaged as Research & Development manager at Megatex S.p.A. for the development of new composite material in textile field in collaboration with many important industries. In 2004 also engaged at University of Lecce for the research and development of superabsorbent hydrogel for biomedical field, antibacterial treatments, self-cleaning treatments and the development of advanced ceramics for aerospace applications.
Experience in the determination of material properties like the tenacity and the tensile strength, the hardness, the resistance to the fire, by the use of thermogravimetric analyses (TGA), antibacterial analysis, differential calorimetry analysis (DSC), thermomechanical analyses (TMA) analysis at the dynanometer.
Experience in the study of material morphology by the use of optical microscopy and electronic microscopy (S.E.M. and T.E.M.).
Dr. Pollini received his degree in Materials Engineer from the University of Lecce in 2003 with the thesis "realization and characterization of silica aerogel by non supercritical method". He published 3 international patents and 6 national patents.
